The Chicago
Mountaineering Club (CMC) and American Alpine Club Midwest
Chapter (AAC) are proud to have Stephen Koch as our guest
speaker for the 2010 CMC/
AAC Annual Dinner on Saturday March 6th at the Oak Brook Double Tree,
1909 Spring Road, Oak Brook, IL 60523.
Stephen is a climber, snowboarder, and long-
time mountain guide. He survived an avalanche on Mount Owen in Grand
Teton National
Park that carried him over 2,000 feet! The aftermath left him with a
broken back, two
badly damaged knees with torn ligaments, cracked ribs, and a night
spent at over 9,000'
on the snow in only a long underwear shirt and thin pair of pants...
His story is one of adventure, survival, and the awesome power of the
Mountains!
As always,
we'll have our annual raffle, silent auction, and now photo contest, so bring your
checkbook to
get great gear for a fraction of the price!

New this year: CMC Photo Contest!!!
Entries must be at least 600X 800 DPI or larger and emailed to
keithb2461@yahoo.com before March 1st. Only one entry per person
please. Include the location that the pic was taken and info on the
crag or specific climb and grade….all info on the subjects in the
photo.
Content must be relevant to the club, climbing, hiking or
mountaineering.
If you would like to submit by mail….they MUST be received by March
1st. Send 8 ½ x 11 glossy prints to;

By submitting to the photo contest you imply that you have exclusive
rights to the photo.
The CMC Photo Contest Committee will pick the ten most spectacular
photos and then the dinner participants will vote for Best Pic Of
2010!!! The winner will receive a moose jaw gift certificate…
All decisions of the Photo Committee are final and All pictures
submitted will become property of the CMC…..
The annual dinner is a great place to see
old friends and
meet new climbing partners. In addition to Stephen's presentation,
we’ll hear about the achievements and plans for the club,
and members and guests
will have a chance to win and/or bid on fabulous products from well
respected gear
manufacturers. Our raffle and
silent auction will help raise money for CMC and AAC. So come early to
check out the great
items and place your bids!
CMC members will receive an invitation in the mail. The dinner is
expected to sell out
quickly, and will be on a
first come/first serve basis, so register early.
